Learn the nuts and bolts of employee representation under federal, state and city employment laws. Designed for any attorneys interested in representing employees, including general practioners, new attorneys, veterans, solo, and government practioners.



This CLE will provide extremely practical advice from two practicing plaintiff-side employment lawyers (and NELA/NY members).

Practical Advice on How to Do the Following:
Pleading an employment complaint
Filing an EEOC charge
Mediating before the EEOC and private mediators
Bringing or defending against a motion for summary judgment
Representing employees before administrative agencies, including EEOC & NLRB

Representing employees under the following statutes:
Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Title VII of 1964 Civil Rights Act
Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA)
New York State Human Rights Law
New York Labor Law
New York City Human Rights Law
Retaliation claims under various employment laws

NELA/NY helps provide assistance and support to lawyers in protecting the rights of employees against the greater resources of their employers and the defense bar.
